Finally the sewing bug has bitten me again!  I've been quite busy sewing over the last week or so and once again, I can't understand why I haven't made anything for so long.  Well, I do know why, life is just so busy these days and being stressed over running our business, financial pressure, 3 young kids... The silly thing is that when I sew, I kind of ''escape'' from all the pressures of life and go in to a happy world of colours, fabric and whilst sewing think of other things I ''just have to make'' which makes me feel really happy from the inside.  Best of all, I sew whilst the rest of the family is around me, it's a hobby that I can do at any time of the day and the family is well used to the noise of the sewing machine, the huge amount of threads & scraps everywhere.  So, here is what I've been up to this week!

Sugar & Spice bag in Babushka fabrics - using ChrisW Designs pattern

My first ever ''purse frame'' purse!  This was really fun to make, but I need to make a few more to prefect this!

Little Red Riding Hood Baby Quilt

I really enjoyed making this baby quilt.  It made me realise how much I have missed sewing and hope this will keep me inspired to start another project. Fabrics used are designed by  Tasha Noel, called Little Red Riding Hood for Riley Blake Designs.

This is the back of the quilt

Little Red Riding Hood Baby Quilt

YAY! I have found my sewing mojo again and I've started to make a baby quilt using Tasha Noel's new fabric called ''Little Red Riding Hood'' for Riley Blake Designs.  This collection of prints are just adorable and can't wait to make more things out of it...

I've had a couple of months off from sewing, just haven't been in the mood, but I've been thinking of sewing projects all week and yesterday made this Bunting for our garden (for the next party).  It was so easy and quick to make, I'm making one in Xmas fabrics next!

YAY! Labyrinth Quilt Finished!

It's always such an awesome feeling to finish a quilt, whether it took me a year to make or just a few days, there is just something really satisfying quilting that last stitch.  Last night I finished my Labyrinth quilt, which means I can start on another one today!

This quilt was made using Red Pepper's Labyrinth quilt pattern. I can highly recommend her patterns, just so easy to follow and great photos. Fabrics used for this quilt are a mix of Denyse Schmidt, Heather Ross and Aneela Hoye beautiful fabrics!

Some new Heather Bailey Bags in Stock

I have just added these two handbags/totes to my Etsy Store!

Both bags are made using amazing fabrics from Heather Bailey!

Puppy Love

We have a new addition to the family, a German Shepherd puppy.  We have called him Tommy Love.  He is just the most gorgeous little puppy, bringing us lots of laughter and love!

A Pink Layer Cake

A Pink Layer Cake - so much fun to make!

First I made a double batch of my late great grandmother's tea cake recipe, which I divided up into four bowls, added coloring, and baked individually. I made an American cream cheese frosting and spread it thinly in between the layers, then used the rest to cover the whole cake!

This is what the inside of the cake looked like.  I will definately make this again!

Mia's 6th Birthday Party!

Our beautiful daughter turned 6 last month and we had a party at home for her!  Here are some of the photos from before the party started.

(I won't put up any from the actual party as I don't like to put up photos of other peoples children without their consent)

a little Hobby Horse for Tyler

This is my first attempt at making a Hobby Horse.  I used Melly & Me's Giddy Up pattern.  This one was a gift for Tyler who turned 1 in June! Fabrics used for this project was mainly from Timeless Treasures ''Shipyard'' collection.

Just Stay Little Quilt - yet to be finished!

I just adore Sarah Jane's ''Children At Play'' collection.  So much so that I just had to make a quilt for our guest bed in the kitchen!

Here is the finished quilt top, now I just need to put it together and quilt it!

Dog & Truck Pencil Roll Holder

Last month I made another pencil roll holder, this one for a friend's little son!  I used Laurie Wisbrun's Big Trucks In Spring fabric!

The pattern for this pencil roll holder can be purchased from my Etsy Shop!

Far Far Away Quilt for Mia

I been holding on to my little fat quarter stash of Far Far Away fabrics from Heather Ross, not knowing what to make and feeling too scared to even cut the gorgeous prints...  I finally did it and here is a quilt for my daughter Mia!
